The Broadbent Institute presented its newly released policy backgrounder on the making mental healthcare a part of Ontario’s public health care system, with coverage of psychotherapies under the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP).
The session began with a short briefing by Broadbent Institute Director of Policy and Stakeholder Relations, Clement Nocos, who presented the policy backgrounder’s main points, the program model and costing estimates.
Following the briefing there was a Q&A between Clement Nocos and Dr. Jeffrey Ansloos, a health policy expert and co-author of this policy backgrounder. The two discussed other considerations surrounding a mental healthcare policy in Ontario and across Canada.
