Perspectives Journal no. 3: fighting inflation, understanding capitalism in crisis
Perspectives: A Canadian Journal of Political Economy and Social Democracy, No. 3 – Spring 2025 was released at the 2025 Progress Summit and is now available online and in print.

To meet the moment, this issue of Perspectives Journal features articles on fighting inflation and capitalism’s contention with democracy. This issue includes pieces on monopoly power and its relationship to price inflation, how to design price controls, the effects capital has on democratic decision making, the neoliberal consensus that has brought us to this crisis point, and the alternatives Canadians can build to tariff-proof and inflation-proof the economy.
Our newest podcast series Class & Climate: Perspectives on a Green Economy also continues this month with conversations that show how Canadians are building a green economy across sectors. Hosted by Nick Pearce of the Green Economy Network, Class & Climate explains how climate action can create good jobs and make life more affordable. Our latest episodes with Lindsay Amundsen of Canada’s Building Trades Unions and Brandon Dyck of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers show where labour is leading the charge in building Canada’s green economy, debunking the myth that workers and the environment are at odds.
Catch up on all this and more at Perspectives Journal.
