Join us for the Broadbent Institute's 2025 Progress Summit, taking place in Ottawa at the City Centre Delta from April 9th to 11th.

The 2024 Ellen Meiksins Wood Lecture was delivered by economist Professor Isabella Weber. She is awarded the 2024 Ellen Meiksins Wood Prize in recognition of outstanding contributions to political economy research that helps to defend the working-class in a time of economic crisis.

As a tribute to Ed Broadbent’s legacy of ideas and action, the 2024 Progress Summit, thematically entitled 'Making the Good Society,' continues Ed’s fight for equality and looks at today’s issues of political economy, including inflation, housing, climate action, workers’ empowerment and more.

Ed Broadbent joined his co-authors, Prof. Frances Abele, Jonathan Sas and Luke Savage, for an engaging discussion around, Seeking Social Democracy: Seven Decades in the Fight for Equality, and how social democratic principles can inform action and change in Canadian politics.
