Global Progressive Network Welcomes New Partners in Canada and Chile
The Center for International Policy is delighted to welcome Canada’s Broadbent Institute and Chile’s Rumbo Colectivo to CIP’s Global Progressive Network. They join The Australia Institute and Japan’s New Diplomacy Initiative in connecting progressive organizations across regions for shared analysis and practical collaboration.
Each partner brings a distinct strength. The Broadbent Institute combines social-democratic research with movement-building, leadership development, and independent media. Rumbo Colectivo connects progressive thought in Chile and Latin America with practical policy development and public debate. The Australia Institute excels at turning rigorous research, particularly on the economy, climate, energy, and democracy, into public influence and policy change. Japan’s New Diplomacy Initiative brings deep expertise in cross-border advocacy, connecting civil-society perspectives with policymakers, legislators, and media in Japan and the United States.
“At this inflection point, marked by global disruption and the advance of anti-democratic forces, there is an urgent need and a real opportunity for greater solidarity and coordination among progressive partners,” says Nancy Okail, President and CEO of CIP. “I am proud to welcome the Broadbent Institute and Rumbo Colectivo as we develop concrete solutions on economic justice, anti-corruption, AI and digital sovereignty, digital public goods, multilateralism, and accountability.”
Network members have already exchanged research and expertise, shared resources, convened public discussions, appeared on one another’s podcasts, and collaborated on emerging policy challenges.
CIP’s recent merger with Century International expanded our institutional and research capacity, which now encompasses 40 staff and fellows. The growth of our global network complements that expansion, strengthening our ability to connect ideas across regions and translate them into public debate and policy action.
CIP, the Broadbent Institute, and Rumbo Colectivo have already collaborated, including as part of the 2026 Panamerican Conference.

This collaboration is born of a shared vision for human flourishing, with collaboration across borders to tackle problems that transcend national boundaries.
